It all started on July 11, 2003, when Swiss Air Lines announced they were going to abandon the Geneva-Lugano route and Julian Cook decided to try and fill the gap with his airline Baboo. Since June 2011, the company has been renamed Darwin Airline.

Currently Darwin Airline flies from Geneva and Lugano to 19 destinations, mostly in the south of Europe. Scheduled services include flights to Venice, Florence, Rome and Naples in Italy and Valencia in Spain. Darwin Airline also operates seasonal flights, for example to Larnaca, Biarritz, Saint Tropez and Ibiza.

Darwin Airline has four product levels for her scheduled flights, to accommodate everyone’s wallet and wishes. Economy and Economy Plus, for the price-conscious passenger, holds the lowest fares and the most ticket restrictions. Premium Economu, for the more flexible traveller, allows passengers to change and reimburse the reservation, while Premium Economy Plus allows the busy corporate traveller full refunds, free changes as well as lounge access where possible and seat reservation. In all classes, on-board meal services are included. Every passenger can even bring one pair of skis per person free of charge, next to the normal baggage allowance. Darwin Airline has entered a special partnership with Aquaverde, an association concentrating on the reforestation of the Brazilian rainforest. Up until 2011, an estimated 7,250 trees have been planted, forming the Baboo Forest somewhere in the middle of the Amazon.
