History

40 years of experience.

Air Agencies Holland B.V. was founded on the 1st of January 1970 by Simon Breedveld. In the early years, mainly smaller airlines not operating direct services to The Netherlands opted for a general sales agent to handle their business. These carriers had the opportunity to conquer the market, without having to invest in an expensive office and staff. Over the years the market has changed and today other airlines make use of a general sales agent as well, while the role of a GSA has also changed.

Since 1989, Air Agencies Holland B.V. was part of the AMAS Holding company. It originally started at Rotterdam Airport but in 1990 an office at Schiphol Airport was established to cover the cargo activities The represented airlines also had demand for commercial representation in Belgium, in order to cover both Belgium and Luxembourg markets and to offer the airlines a Benelux representation. Therefore Air Agencies Belgium N.V. was established in 1991. In 2001, the AMAS Holding company was taken over by the TMI Holding Company. A logical next step of this merge was that Air Support, another GSA in The Netherlands and part of TMI, and Air Agencies had the chance to look at synergies. Result was that Air Support and Air Agencies merged per 1st January 2002.

Air Agencies Benelux is ISO certificated. In December 2003 the existing management S. Breedveld and J.C.M. van der Velden bought the company through a management buyout and became the sole owners. After a long, productive career, Simon Breedveld retired from his position as director in February 2007 and has left the company he founded over 35 years ago, in the capable hands of Kees-Jan van der Velden. Since 2006, operations have been expanded to the beautiful capital of Georgia, Tblisi. Airlines represented by Air Agencies in the Benelux, were given the opportunity to establish a branchoffice on the borders of Europe, Asia and the Middle East. With now three fully operational offices in Europe, the name Air Agencies Benelux has been changed to Air Agencies Europe. For the future, Air Agencies Europe will maintain steady growth and keep open the possibilities to expand even further within Europe.
